NARRATOR:
The digital paintings on this wall are part of the exhibition Pixar, 20 years of Animation, which begins on the main floor. They are part of the final process in creating a computer generated film, adding the detail, texture and color that makes 3-D images so rich and so real, even if they go by in the wink of an eye.

The series of dots is actually colored irises in the eyes of characters in the upcoming movie Cars. The shell designs, inspired by patterns on Hawaiian shirts, were applied to the turtles who swam and played in Nemo’s ocean. And the intricate butterfly wings come from A Bug's Life.

Waiting for you in the Media Gallery are two brand new works made especially for this exhibition – The Toy Story zoetrope, which illustrates the “magic” of animation, and Artscape, a wall projection. They are played one after the other. You’ll also find all kinds of original Pixar art downstairs, on the theater levels, in the Titus One and Two galleries.
