Werner Bischof (26 April 1916 – 16 May 1954) was a Swiss photographer and photojournalist. He became a full member of Magnum Photos in 1949, the first new photographer to join its original founders. Bischof's book Japan (1954) was awarded the Prix Nadar in 1955.

Bischof is considered one of the leading photojournalists of the postwar era. He became a member of the "Magnum" agency in 1949, and in 1951 was commissioned by "Life" magazine to document famine in India. He is best known for his moving pictures of children. He was killed in an accident in the Peruvian Andes in 1954.
