Introduction
Ernst Fuchs (13 February 1930 – 9 November 2015) was an Austrian painter, draftsman, printmaker, sculptor, architect, stage designer, composer, poet, singer and one of the founders of the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism. In 1972, he acquired the derelict Otto Wagner Villa in Hütteldorf, which he restored and transformed. The villa was inaugurated as the Ernst Fuchs Museum in 1988.

Introduction
Considered to be the best-known representative of Fantastic Realism. He co-founded the Pintorarium with Friedensreich Hundertwasser and Arnulf Rainer. In 1972 he acquired the Otto Wagner Villa in Hütteldorf and turned it into the Ernst Fuchs Museum. The State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg mounted a retrospective in 1993. His work is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 2010 he received the Golden Medal of Honor for his services to the city of Vienna.
