The Museum of Modern Art welcomes groups by appointment, extending its exhibition and educational resources through its guided and unguided Museum tours.

Group visits are available at reduced rates for a minimum of ten and a maximum of fifty people. Reservations must be made by phone at least two weeks in advance. For further information, please call (212) 708-9685, fax (212) 408-6398, or e-mail groupservices@moma.org.

Professional art historians are available to provide guided Museum tours for groups of up to twenty-five people. Highlights tours, tours of special exhibitions, and tours in foreign languages may be scheduled for one hour. Tours lasting more than one hour in duration can be arranged for an additional fee.

A highlights tour includes an introduction to the building and highlights from the collection. A highlights tour can also focus on specific galleries, mediums, or collection areas. Please note that only MoMA lecturers are authorized to speak to groups.

Outside lecturers are not allowed. Professors from accredited institutions may request to lecture to their classes in the Museum galleries.

The one-hour guided Museum tour rates during public hours, including admission, are as follows:

Visitors can enjoy the exclusive and intimate experience of touring the Museum without the crowds. Corporate clients, especially, utilize the private before- or after-hours tours for corporate entertaining. One-hour private tours conducted by a Museum lecturer are available from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. A minimum of ten people is required.

This intergenerational experience allows visitors of all ages to engage in a guided tour of the collection or special exhibitions. Tours are customized to meet a family's needs and interests. Family tours are one hour in duration and offered during public hours. A minimum of ten people or a base rate of $340 is required.

Visitors often request Museum tours for fewer than ten people. MoMA is pleased to offer personal guided tours of collection installations or special exhibitions for individuals or small groups. Personal tours are conducted during public hours as well as before the Museum opens in the morning and after the Museum closes in the evening. Gift certificates for Museum tours are the perfect fit for any occasion. Many of our guests use them to mark a special event such as a birthday or anniversary. Gift tours are available for groups of up to ten visitors, are one hour long, and are led by a knowledgeable art historian. Gift tours may take place during public or private hours, and rates vary accordingly.

General, self-guided admission may be paid in full upon arrival by cash, check, or credit card, or paid in advance by credit card. All guided tours require payment in full upon making the reservation by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express).

The exclusivity and additional security required for after-hours tours requires payment in full upon making the reservation by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express).

Only groups of ten or more people are eligible for the Museum's discounted group rates, therefore a group must pay for at least ten people. If fewer than ten people in a group appear upon arrival, the balance for a visit of ten people must still be paid.

Cancellations and Refunds

MoMA Group Services must be notified in writing of full cancellations as well as decreases or increases in the number of guided participants no less than two weeks (ten working days) prior to an appointment in order to receive a refund. You may either fax or e-mail your cancellation or adjustment. If fewer than ten working days are given, your group will be charged in full for the original reservation.

Last-Minute Requests

Museum tour requests made fewer than two weeks in advance of a visit are subject to a non-refundable $100 fee. This fee enables us to search for a guide with little advance notice. Tour fees will only be charged once a guide is found and the client is notified.

Buses are permitted to drop off and pick up on Fifty-third and Fifty-fourth streets in designated areas only. No bus engine idling is permitted. Consult New York City charter bus parking guidelines for approved bus waiting areas.
