The Celeste Bartos Theater in the Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, 4 West 54 Street, between Fifth and Sixth avenues
Visit The Museum of Modern Art for free art events that bring together teens from all over New York City to make art, watch films, and discuss the art and artists of the past 125 years.
What’s so alluring about the strange and eccentric characters we see in the movies? Why do exaggerated caricatures hold such appeal? Inspired by MoMA’s upcoming Tim Burton retrospective, this fall’s program, Casting Call: Superheroes, Ghouls, and Freaks, spotlights the mythical, incredible, and shocking characters and stories that artists create. Teens are invited to watch films and talk with their peers, filmmakers, curators, and educators.
No need to preregister; just show up and participate. Students must bring a valid high school ID.
For more information, please call School Programs at (212) 708-9828 or e-mail teenprograms@moma.org.
