We have finalized the full lineup for the 41st edition of New Directors/New Films with a total of 29 feature films (24 narrative, five documentary) and 12 shorts, representing 28 countries in all.

This year's festival is marked by a series of firsts: the screening and celebration of Stanley Kubrick’s debut feature, Fear and Desire, (1953) breaks precedent by presenting a film nearly 20 years older than the festival itself; Antoine Delesvaux and Joann Sfar's The Rabbi's Cat is the first 3-D feature and the first family film to be screened at ND/NF; Two full programs of short films have been added to this year’s schedule; and Gareth Huw Evans's Indonesian martial-arts thriller The Raid is the first late-night screening of a ND/NF selection.

Another exciting new element this year is a special surprise Closing Night screening. The highly anticipated film will not be revealed to the audience until it screens at the Film Society on Sunday, April 1.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Sunday, March 11, 2012. Film Society and MoMA Members may purchase tickets starting Sunday, March 4. Visit newdirectors.org for details.
