2008. USA. Directed by Mark Becker, Jennifer Grausman. Philadelphia schoolteacher Wilma Stephenson believes her students can develop discipline and concentration and improve their self-worth by learning how to cook. A strict taskmaster, Stephenson cajoles and, at times, screeches at her students in the hopes that her tough love will help them to earn culinary-school scholarships. The students push back from time to time, but ultimately their bond is one of mutual respect and empowerment. Acquired with support from The Jerome Foundation. 99 min.
