  • The Yes Men Fix the World

2009. USA. Directed by Andy Bichlbaum, Mike Bonanno, Kurt Engfehr. Gonzo journalist/artists Bichlbaum and Bonanno pose as top executives at major business conferences around the world to bring attention to rampant corporate greed. Their infamous escapades suggest turning that greed into good: when Bichlbaum impersonates a Dow Chemical representative on BBC World News, he claims that the company has decided to "do the right thing," and take responsibility for the Bhopal chemical disaster and compensate its victims. In another prank decrying corporate lobbying against environmental responsibility, the pair design and model SurvivaBalls, bulbous suits that save managers from abrupt climate change. The style and message of The Yes Men is sobering, outrageous, entertaining, and nervy, bringing biting humor to timely issues. Winner of the Panorama audience award at the Berlin Film Festival.
