Everything Strange and New
2009. USA. Written and directed by Frazer Bradshaw. With Jerry McDaniel, Beth Lisick, Luis Saguar. A San Francisco carpenter in his thirties, humbled and frustrated by the gap between the expectations of youth and the realities of married middle-class life, is the subject of Frazer Bradshaw's haunting directorial debut, winner of the critics’ prize at the San Francisco International Film Festival. Photographed by the director with a rigorous formalism, the film examines several frayed marriages and contemplates the inadequacies of friendships and parenthood, love and desire to conquer the malaise of becoming someone you never wanted to be. 83 min.
