    2006. Great Britain. Directed by Roger Michell. With Peter O’Toole. An off-the-wall romance between a very elderly man and his best friend’s nineteen-year-old granddaughter, this is, at its core, a story about mortality and the enduring need for romance and human connection. Venus signals O’Toole’s fiftieth anniversary on the screen and earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. 95 min.
