1918. USA. Written and directed by D. W. Griffith. With Robert Harron, Lillian Gish, Dorothy Gish. This year marks the fifteenth anniversary of the Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize, one of the largest annual awards in the arts. To mark this event, the Museum presents one of the Gish sisters' finest films, in a new print whose restoration was funded by MoMA's Lillian Gish Trust for Film Preservation—another example of Ms. Gish's commitment to the arts.
