    2008. Germany. Directed by Dennis Gansel. Screenplay by Gansel, Peter Thorwarth, based on the novel by Todd Strasser. With Jürgen Vogel, Frederick Lau, Jennifer Ulrich. Set in present-day Germany, but adapted from a book based on events that took place in a California high school, The Wave is a tense and gripping account of what happens when a classroom exercise in authoritarianism, led by a popular teacher, goes horribly awry. In German; English subtitles. 93 min.
