Music with Roots in the Aether
1975. USA. Directed by Robert Ashley. A large-scale documentation of the "post-serial"/"post-Cage" movement that that came into American concert music in the 1960s, featuring several highly original international composers, including David Behrman and Philip Glass. The style of the video presentation reflects Ashley's desire to closely observe music being performed in its own space/time frame. 120 min.
