    2004. China. Directed by Jia Zhangke. With Tao Zhao, Taisheng Chen, Jue Jing, Zhong-wei Jiang. Virtuoso filmmaking infuses this often surreal portrait of contemporary China with a sense of wonder. Set in Beijing World Park, a faux landscape of replicas and monuments from across the globe, Jia Zhangke's film captures a culture in flux and a people on the cusp of a new chapter in a storied history. In Mandarin, Shanxi dialect; English subtitles. 139 min.
