1916. USA. Director unknown. Produced by the Biograph Company. In this one-reel adaptation of a popular Williams stage sketch, Bert goes fishing and catches a ten-pounder, but has trouble selling it. Approx. 12 min.

  • A Natural Born Gambler

1916. USA. Director unknown. Produced by the Biograph Company. Featuring an all-black cast, this two-reeler ends with Williams's famous solo poker game, the only filmed record of his most famous stage routine. In this print the film's original blue tinting is restored. Approx. 22 min.

  • Unreleased Bert Williams Film

1916. USA. Director unknown. Produced by the Biograph Company. Found among the original camera negatives in MoMA's Biograph Collection, this reel represents a work in progress—an attempt to assemble the opening scenes of what survives of a (possible) four-reel romantic comedy begun, but never released, by the studio. The first ten minutes (approx.) will be screened.
