Moscow Strikes Back
1942. USA. Produced by Nicholas Napoli. Narrated by Edward G. Robinson. Photographed by fifteen courageous cinematographers, this visceral glimpse of the Soviet struggle against Nazi invasion reveals winter warfare at its most bone-chilling. Pre–Cold War propaganda extolled the character of the Russian people, described a common Russian-American value system, and cemented the U.S.-Soviet alliance. New print made by National Archives and Records Administration. 55 min.
