The Southern Cross
2003. Argentina/France. Written and directed by Pablo Reyero. With Letizia Lestido, Luciano Suardi. Reyero brings his documentary roots to this gripping film about three Argentinean desperados who steal one hundred kilos of cocaine from a ruthless drug lord and make their way to Paraguay. The trioa girl, her lover, and his transvestite brotherflee to the coast, holing up in a grimly desolate seaside resort where the parents of the two brothers live in utter destitution. In Spanish; English subtitles. 79 min.
