Lord of the Flies
1963. Great Britain. Written and directed by Peter Brook. Based on the novel by William Golding. With James Aubrey, Tom Chapin. Nature versus nurture with respect to civilization and savagery is examined when a group of schoolboys are stranded on a tropical island. Instead of uniting to ensure their survival, the boys split into two factions and clash, posing the question of whether or not environment—in its broadest sense—influences actions. 90 min.
