    2001. Algeria. Written and directed by Mehdi Charef. With Cylia Malki, Baya Belal. When Rallia returns to a parched Berber village in the Atlas Mountains of Algeria to confront her biological mother, she must also deal with the role of women in Muslim society, the lack of modern conveniences, and the dearth of drinking water, which will ultimately destroy the village. In Arabic, French; English subtitles. 106 min.
