When a state trooper is murdered near the highway between Minneapolis and Brainerd, a very pregnant Marge Gunderson, Chief of Police, is propelled into her first homicide investigation. Minnesota's inhospitable winter topography is stark-white and brittle, with lonely highways and quiet neighborhoods that hide the sometimes insidious nature of small-town life. 98 min.
