  • An Arabian Knight

1920. USA. Directed by Charles Swickard. With Lillian Hall, Jean Acker. Hayakawa plays an Arab donkey tender at an archeological excavation in Egypt, who saves the white heroine from a hashish-maddened horde led by a dissolute Egyptian and "gets the girl." Hayakawa made six more films over the next eighteen months before giving up his independent production company. Roles in Hollywood began to dry up, and he became something of an international wanderer in the 1920s and 1930s. Silent. Approx. 60 min.
