The Tong Man
1919. USA. Directed by William Worthington. With Helen Jerome Eddy, Marc Robbins, Toyo Fujita. In this film about Tong wars, the infighting among secret organizations in San Francisco's Chinatown, Hayakawa and the white Eddy both portray Chinese characters. The film managed to offend and bring about censorship efforts by Asian American groups and the Chinese government. Silent. Approx. 65 min.
