Show People
1928. USA. Directed by King Vidor. With Marion Davies, William Haines, Dell Henderson. Show People, one of the loveliest films ever made about Hollywood, was the perfect climax to Vidor's silent career. Davies, superb in this gentle mockery of Gloria Swanson's life and career, demonstrates why she is considered the greatest of silent comediennes. The film includes appearances by Charles Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, John Gilbert, and Vidor himself in a genial tribute to a waning golden era. Silent. Approx. 82 min.
