Rigodon
2005. USA. Written and directed by Sari Lluch Dalena, Keith Sicat. With Arthur Acuna, Chin-chin Gutierrez. Rigodon's politically charged observations on the difficulties of being Filipino immigrants in post-9/11 New York City is given a stylized and meditative form that alternates between dream, theater, and reality. The intersecting stories of a poet, an aging boxer, and a haunted war bride illuminate the challenges of living the immigrant dream, and the fleetingly beautiful personal connections that are born of that struggle. In Tagalog, English; English subtitles. 90 min.
In the Film exhibition Asian Cinevisions 2007
