  • Acts of the Apostles

    1968. France/Italy/Spain. Roberto Rossellini. Screenplay by Rossellini, Jean-Dominique de La Rochefoucauld, Luciano Scaffa, based on the New Testament. With Tunisia standing in for the Holy Land, and Osta Antica for Rome, Rossellini charts the early history of Christianity through the journeys and preachings of the apostles as they convert and baptize the people, argue the words of Christ, and interact with secular authorities. Made in five episodes. With one twenty-minute intermission English version. 280 min.
