A Beautiful Life

Frédéric, a young man returning from two years of military service in Algeria, marries Sylvie and settles in picturesque Paris with hopes of resuming his former life as a photographer. The filmthe title of which is rendered ironic by recurrent documentary footage linking the miseries of poor nations, colonial warfare, and police brutality within Francepoints out the disparity between the dreams of young people and the cruel realities of the world in the 1960s. 105 min.
