  • My Night at Maud’s

1969. France. Written and directed by Eric Rohmer. Cinematography by Nestor Almendros. With Jean-Louis Trintignant, Francoise Fabien, Marie-Christine Barrault, Antoine Vitez. Rohmer was one of the Cahiers du Cinéma critics who became a lesser-known but ultimately prominent member of the French New Wave. This Oscar-nominated film offers one of the most serious intellectual discussions of values in movie history. Trintignant, of course, was the star of Michael Haneke’s recent Oscar-winning Amour. In French; English subtitles. 105 min.
