    1926. USA. Directed by Clarence Brown. Cinematography by William Daniels. With Greta Garbo, John Gilbert, Lars Hanson, Barbara Kent. Garbo’s third American film was shot by Daniels, with whom she made 18 pictures in total, and directed by Brown, who wound up directing her in seven films. Together, Daniels and Brown made her into the most celebrated actress of the period, partly due to her undisputed talent, but also through the exquisite lighting effects they used to capture her beauty. 96 min.
