  • The Inland Sea

    1991. Japan/USA. Directed by Lucille Carra. Written and narrated by Donald Richie, based on his classic travel memoir. 56 min.

This selection of 8mm films, shot by Donald Richie in Japan beginning in 1949, has never been screened in New York. Followed by a panel discussion with his friends and colleagues. Participants will be announced shortly.

The program will also include a screening of The Inland Sea, Lucille Carra's 1991 documentary based on Richie's book. Richie narrates and appears in the film.
