  • Lord of the Flies

1963. Great Britain. Directed by Peter Brook. Adapted from the novel by William Golding. With James Aubrey, Tom Chapin, Hugh Edwards. Peter Brook, still going strong at 88, is primarily known as a stage director, a disciple of Antonin Artaud’s “Theater of Cruelty.” Golding’s exploration of adolescent sadism and savagery provided Brook with material for one of his most compelling visual productions. 90 min.
