A heist drama based on a true story, Tattoo marked Takahashi’s switch from a successful career making sexploitation films to more mainstream fare. A bank robber’s life story is told in flashback, tracing his frustrated efforts to find his place in society and culminating in a last-ditch, violent attempt to prove himself.
