How does one go about recovering lost dignity, not only for revolutionaries, but for those on the other side? This is one of the essential questions that motivates director Nasrallah—and the characters in After the Battle. The film lays bare the challenge of "recomposing" in film how individuals endure major historic upheavals. Part vérité, part fiction, with remarkable performances and raw, captivating energy, the film takes the viewer into the heart of a revolution that most only watched incredulously on television.
