1932. USA. Directed by William A. Wellman. With Ruth Chatterton, Louis Calhern. Orphaned by the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, Jenny finds her way into a bawdy house and soon becomes the madam. A crusading district attorney is determined to close down the city’s cathouses, much to Jenny’s dismay. But the DA just might be the son Jenny gave up for adoption. 71 min.
