    1916. USA. Directed by Lloyd Ingraham. Screenplay by Granville Warwick (aka D. W. Griffith). With Mae Marsh, Robert Harron. Hoodoo Ann is an orphan girl who can’t catch a break. She has to scrub the floors and do other chores, while Goldie, the favorite of the orphanage manager, sits by. But when a fire strikes the orphanage, Ann rescues Goldie, and fate rewards her with an adoption. Silent, with musical accompaniment. 73 min.
