With Madeliene Renaud, Danielle Darrieux, Pierre Brasseur, Jean Gabin, Peter Ustinov. This, the second of four masterpieces Ophuls made upon his return to postwar Europe, is a dazzling bit of filmmaking and a profound commentary on the human spirit. In French; English subtitles. 91 min.
