The Tiniest Place
2011. Mexico. Directed by Tatiana Huezo Sanchez. The village of Cinquera, in the jungles of El Salvador, was razed by the brutal National Guard during the Civil War of 1980–92. In the years of peace that followed, surviving residents returned to start anew. Their harrowing memories resound over breathtaking images of the reborn village, providing remarkable insight into a community's triumph over unspeakable tragedy. Copresented with Ambulante and Cinema Tropical. 104 min.
