The Tenth Victim
1966. Italy. Directed by Elio Petri. With Marcello Mastroianni, Ursula Andress. That old saying “you always hurt the one you love” takes on new meaning in this comedy, an early satire of game shows. The Big Hunt is a popular game show in which randomly chosen contestants, identified as “Hunter” and “Victim,” chase one another around the globe—and the loser is killed. In an attempt to boost ratings, the sponsors bring together two champions for a special match. 92 min.
