2011. USA. Written and directed by Sophia Takal. Green begins as a satirical portrait of two over-privileged Brooklynites who head to the country, where Sebastian (Lawrence Levine) will write a blog about his pitiful attempts to become a farmer. Sebastian’s thin, pretty girlfriend Genevieve (Kate Lyn Sheil) soon realizes she doesn’t really know why she’s there. Her sense of emptiness is quickly filled with narrow-eyed suspicion of a friendly neighbor (played by Takal), which turns into a fantasy-fueled, unpredictable rage. Woven from the tangled web of female jealousy that Takal herself admits to harboring, an unexpected thriller emerges in this microbudget film, which premiered at this year’s SXSW film festival to awards and acclaim. 75 min.
