  • Codependent Lesbian Space Alien Seeks Same

2011. USA. Written and directed by Madeleine Olnek. In her directorial feature debut, Olnek combines the camp of 1950s sci-fi B-movies with an LGBT love story. With a plot that Ed Wood would salivate over, three lesbian aliens from the planet Zotz travel to Earth to save their planet. Their mission: fall in love and have their hearts broken. What unfolds is a hilarious exploration of the New York City singles scene as the aliens go on speed dates, place personal ads, and display their native ways of showing affection (which, unsurprisingly, doesn’t seem to faze New Yorkers). 76 min.
