    2011. USA. Directed by Nicholas Winding Refn. Screenplay Hossein Amini, based on the book by James Sallis. With Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Albert Brooks, Ron Perlman. Powered by Cliff Martinez’s synthesizer-heavy score, director Refn crafts a stylish heist film centered around a stoic, unnamed driver's (Gosling) unexpected involvement with his neighbor Irene (Mulligan), her husband, and their young son. Unfortunately for the Driver, these new relationships lead him to cross paths with vicious gangster Bernie Rose (Brooks) and his cronies, leading to a series of bloody confrontations.
