The Artist
2011. France. Written and directed by Michael Hazanavicius. With Jean Dujardin, Bérénice Bejo. The Artist has been conquering the film festival circuit since its debut at the Cannes in May 2011. The film follows two show business archetypes, the up-and-coming ingénue and the leading man past his prime, as they transition from the end of the silent era into the age of "talkies." Dujardin and Bejo's star-making performances have ignited standing ovations around the globe, and Hazanavicius has crafted one of the most original and unique films of the year. Print courtesy of The Weinstein Company. Silent. 100 min.
