Theater 2 (The Roy and Niuta Titus Theater 2), T2
1973. USA. Directed by Adolfas Mekas, Pola Chapelle. In 1971, after an absence of 27 years, Jonas and Adolfas Mekas returned to their birthplace in Lithuania. Going Home is Adolfas Mekas's film journal of the experience, with narration taken from diaries he kept as a boy in the village of Semeniskiai and later while working in a German forced-labor camp. Several folksongs are also sung by the two Mekas brothers. This screening is in tribute to Adolfas, a founder of the new American Cinema Group who died on May 31 of this year.
