  • Children of Paradise

    1945. France. Directed by Marcel Carné. Screenplay by Jacques Prévert. With Jean-Louis Barrault, Arletty, Pierre Brasseur, Pierre Renoir, Maria Casares. Somehow, despite the German occupation, Carne managed to make this sprawling epic of 19th-century Parisian life and theater. Shown in this abridged version, the movie still remains unforgettable for its superb performances and Prevert’s poetic script. In French; English subtitles. Approx. 150 min.
