Finding Nemo
2003. USA. Directed by Andrew Stanton. Codirected by Lee Unkrich. Screenplay by Stanton, Bob Peterson, David Reynolds. With the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, John Ratzenberger. Pixar’s trademark of simultaneously tickling the senses and touching the heart had been firmly established by 2003 with the studio’s fifth feature. Finding Nemo also features another of the studio’s distinctions—a devastating opening coda that informs the motivations of its central character—in this story about a father who goes on a grueling odyssey to find his lost son. 100 min.
