  • Always for Pleasure

1978. USA. Directed by Les Blank. This portrait of New Orleans in the late 1970s covers the city's streets, ports, people, local culture, and music. Blank’s familiarity with the landscape adds an intimacy to the charm of the Victorian houses, colorful street names, and such local musicians as trumpet player and Valentine Band leader Kid Thomas, pianist Allen Toussaint, jazz singer Blue Lu Barker, and rhythm and blues singer Irma Thomas. 58 min.
