The Little Snow Animal
2010. Finland. Directed by Milo Tervo. On the Finnish radio show Night Line, a 16-year-old-girl in distress is the first caller of the night. Her story unfolds through animated drawings, dramatized footage, and archival film. In Finnish; English subtitles. 19 min.

Forever Yours
2011. Finland. Directed by Mia Halme. This intimate film reveals the emotions and stresses experienced by children in custodial care, and their relationships with their parents and foster parents. Particular attention is paid to two cases: a pair of siblings, ages seven and nine, as they are about to return to their biological mother after five years in custody; and a teenager, in custody for eight years, who asks her imprisoned father if she can change her surname before starting at a new school. In Finnish; English subtitles. 90 min.
