  • Between Dreams

2009. Finland. Directed by Iris Olsson. Filmed at night, on a train traveling between Moscow and Vladivostock, the film captures the sleeping passengers and records their dreams. In Finnish; English subtitles. 11 min.

  • People in White

2011. The Netherlands/Finland. Directed by Tellervo Kalleinen, Oliver Kochta-Kalleinen. During a group therapy session, nine patients talk about their psychiatrists and their experiences in mental institutions, and role-play each other’s experiences, taking the parts of both patient and doctor. The filmmakers—best known for their renowned film Complaints Choir—have created a fusion of documentary and drama that turns the tables on the relationship between patients and doctors, making the doctors and their treatment methods the primary focus. Roles in the film are "played" by both actors and actual patients; see if you can determine which subjects are "real." In Finnish; English subtitles. 63 min.
