Shut Up Little Man! An Audio Misadventure
2011. Australia. Directed by Matthew Bate. Bate’s documentary Shut Up Little Man! An Audio Misadventure tells the story of two men who, upon discovering they had rented an apartment next to two men who drank and verbally abused each other every night, decided to record the nightly fights and play them back through their neighbors’ front door. It didn’t quiet the noisy roommates, but somehow the recordings became part of an underground culture that still inspire musicians, poets, graphic artists and disc jockeys. 85 min.
