Boxing Day
2007. Australia. Directed by Kriv Stenders. Story by Stenders, Richard Green, with dialogue supplied by the cast. Chris Sykes, a violence-prone estranged father newly home from prison, prepares an afternoon meal for his visiting family on Boxing Day. Unfortunately, all does not go as planned. Boxing Day cannily appears to have been made in a single take, emphasizing the intensity and immediacy of the drama. 82 min.
