The War Game
1966. Great Britain. Produced and directed by Peter Watkins. Narrated by Michael Aspel, Dick Graham. This harrowing simulated depiction of a nuclear attack on England made headlines when it was banned for being too graphic and terrifying. The film was instrumental in opening the debate on nuclear proliferation, and went on to great commercial success on both sides of the Atlantic. 48 min.
